Look At Me - 2025 Down Syndrome Centre North East charity calendar

Updated: 4 days ago

Our 2025 Charity Calendar was all about the children who make us shine

For our seventh calendar, we decided to strip everything back and shine the spotlight exactly where it belongs — on the beautiful children who attend Hub 21 (formerly The Down Syndrome Centre North East). The theme, “Look At Me,” celebrated each child’s unique qualities and showcased the incredible diversity across our service users.

You aren’t just seeing their smiles — you’re seeing their personalities, their spark, and the heart of what Hub 21 is all about.

And what a year it has been. In 2024 alone, our service numbers increased by 33%, supporting up to 120 families. That’s more babies being born, more families moving to the region, and more families choosing Hub 21 as their place of support. We’re so proud to provide early intervention, targeted play-based therapies, social groups, counselling, family support, education, and guidance — all in our warm “home-from-home” environment. The calendar is a celebration of those families, of the friendships forming between children, and of the community that continues to grow stronger around them.

A Community That Keeps Giving

We’re incredibly grateful to the many expectant families, local schools, community groups, and businesses who seek information, support, and reassurance from us throughout the year. In 2024, we were honoured to be recognised by the National Lottery Good Causes Awards as a County Winner and to attend the National Finals as one of the top five organisations in Ireland for Health & Wellbeing. Reaching the finals was a testament to the impact being made — not by one person, but by every family, volunteer, staff member, and supporter who helps shape our centre.

Hub 21 continues to rely heavily on fundraising and the generosity of others to meet day-to-day running costs, so to everyone involved in the creation and purchase of this calendar: thank you. Your support keeps our doors open and ensures families in our region receive the services they deserve.

To Our 2025 Calendar Stars — Thank You

A huge thank-you goes out to the 50 incredible children whose faces brightened the 2025 calendar. Your joy, your charm, and your individuality are the reason this calendar and charity means so much to so many.

Thank you also to the 120+ families who attend the centre and continue to trust us with your children’s development and wellbeing. And of course, to our wonderful team and volunteers — your time, heart, and dedication are at the centre of everything we do.
