About the Event
The content will be structured around three themes;
1) Attitude,
2) Knowledge,
3) Skills.
Dr O’Byrne’s approach is informed by strength focused and solution orientated approaches with an emphasis on approaches that can be integrated easily into family life. The framework for adapting to levels of understanding depending on ability will be based a model of Social-Emotional Learning; Self Awareness- What is happening to my body, Self-Management- Managing my thoughts and feelings, Social Awareness- understanding different views, Relationships –Communicating and connecting with others, and Responsible Decision making. There is an emphasis on practical, visual, and accessible resources and strategies.
Dr Clara O’Byrne is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist with expertise in Disability and Education. A former special school teacher and NCSE advisor, she runs her own practice in West Cork. Dr O’Byrne has particular interest in working with Parents, Carers and Neurodivergent families. Dr O’Byrne has a strong interest in social justice and supporting better communication between families and the services that support them.
