About the Event
Beth Corcoran, who is pursuing an MSc in Down Syndrome research and is the mother of a teenager with Down Syndrome, and Dr. Rob McCarthy (MB, BCh, BAO, BA (Mod), MRCPI, a 4th-year SpR in Paediatric Medicine)
The HAPPY programme is a health awareness initiative aimed at young teenagers with Down Syndrome. Its purpose is to educate them about current health research and provide them with the language and tools needed to maintain their health and advocate for themselves in health management. This programme was created by Trinity College Dublin's Down Syndrome Research Group (DISCO) in partnership with the Down Syndrome Centre, Dublin, and was awarded a Trinity Civic Engagement Award in 2025. Beth Corcoran is currently working on an MSc in Down Syndrome-related research at Trinity College Dublin and is the mother of Rosa, who has Down Syndrome.
